Laura Meyer,
Founder & Licensed Special Education Teacher K-12 DCD & SLD, Masters in Teaching and Learning Laura has spent the past 22 years serving individuals with disabilities and their families in various capacities. Most of her experience has been as a licensed special education teacher working in schools for 13 years teaching, assessing, advocating and developing programs on behalf of students and families. Directing her energy towards the world of special needs is just who she is as a person. It's not a career; it's her life's passion. Her strong communication skills, solution based thinking and effective leadership abilities allow her to customize respite options for families that work. Laura lives in Saint Louis Park with her husband and three children. |
Katie Whitnah, M.A.
Consultant Katie lives in Minnetonka with her husband and two boys. In 2010, doctors and educators diagnosed her three-year-old son with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Since then she has been learning about autism, building community, and navigating the system. She uses her professional experience in organizational development to advocate for people with special needs and connect parents to services available for individual and family support. |
Andrea Usset, LICSW
Care Coordinator Andrea began her social work career as an elementary school social worker. After 10 years of working diligently to support children and families; her experience as a social worker was put to the greatest test as her daughter was diagnosed with a severe form of uncontrollable Epilepsy that significantly impacts her cognitive development. Now she navigates the medical and educational system through the lens of a parent. She is the voice and advocate for her child. She uses her personal and professional experiences to create a community of success for her child and thrives on helping other families who may find themselves on a new journey in life. |
